Essential Oil Infused Popsicles

Essential Oil Infused Popsicle- by Oh Everything Handmade

The last day of summer is approaching us shortly, but we don’t want the summer to leave. Being out all day, enjoying the beach or the pool is way too much fun. With two super active toddlers, the need for some healthy snacking after or during our sunbathing rituals was long overdue!

Essential Oils are always a healthy option (as long as you use the right ones) to spice things up. My kids LOVE ice cream, so I decided to make them popsicles instead of buying the store brand ice cream. Essential Oil Infused Popsicles that is, those you can’t buy at the store!

Why make your own popsicles?

  • healthier (duh)
  • cheaper
  • can be made with any flavor
  • use veggies and fruit for a nutritious combo pop

How to get started

You need a great popsicle mold, Essential Oils, a food processor or stand mixer, wooden sticks, wax paper, leftovers or fresh bought fruit, juice, gummy bears or worms, milk and yogurt.

Tips & Tricks:

  • If you use the dishwasher for the molds – the metal piece will most likely change the metals color (read the reviews on amazon for it here)
  • In order for the popsicle stick not to float up during the freezing process, soak the popsicle sticks in warm water prior to inserting into your popsicles (dry them with a clean paper towel or cloth before inserting).
  • Want to store a bunch of popsicles in your freezer, simply wrap them individually in wax paper and store them in a ziplock bag.
  • Like to take your popsicles to a birthday party, use this small cooler, fill the bottom with cooling packs, one layer or popsicles in a ziplock bag, and another layer of cooling packs. If you have more, stack them sideways: cooling pack | popsicles | cooling pack | popsicles and lay two more cooling packs on top to cover everything up.
  • If you add Essential Oils to your mix, make sure you use a glass bowl with a wooden spoon to combine and mix.

    1. Natalie, you definatly can ingest oils. Just make sure you get those that have no additives or preservatives. Young Living is defiantly a good company to go with. You can read more about how they process and make the oils here.
