From old Coffee Table to Ottoman

This old coffee table is my next project. I was debating on getting rid of our glass top coffee table and create or make-over something that was more fun for our living room.

Our living room is very spacious, so when I found this beauty on craigslist, I just couldn’t pass on it. It is about 4.5 ft long and 2.5 ft wide with a height of 1 ft. The size is perfect and will give us lots of coverage.

I am planning on transforming the coffee table into something bold but comfortable at the same time, with a splash of color  and a durable tufted top (where the glass inserts are, will be a tufted upholstery) this should change the feel of our – oh, so boring living room quite a bit.

The color of our new table will be a light, almost minty blue from Sherwin Williams Glimmer SW 6476. The tufted cushion that will go on top will be an Upholstery Fabric-Signature Series Studio Texture Marble with handmade Ming Box(s) below the top (tutorial will be posted next week). We are also going to use a World Market Gold Mirrored Tabletop Tray to place a plant and drinks on it.

I’m also sharing lots of sneak peeks of projects on instagram, you can follow me at @oheverythinghandmade

  1. Hey Bet, that coffee table is a real modish. Kept scrolling on that part. I look forward to see your table’s transformation. Upholstered ottoman–really interesting. Can’t wait to see the finish product 🙂
