A few days ago I revealed some of our project updates, which included our Kitchen. It feels like I am sitting on hot coal, waiting for my countertops to arrive is taking forever… we are going with a butcher block counter from Ikea and they have been on backorder for weeks now, I was hoping to get them delivered at the end of February, well what do you know it is already March, darn it!

So, while WE wait for the countertops to arrive, I thought I’ll share some of my favorite kitchens on the web. These kitchens have been a great inspiration!

I am a big fan of color, the dining area above is one of my favorites. Modern, cozy and functional. The open shelf display is gorgeous with the untreated wood, makes a perfect match to a slick white kitchen. 

The inspiration to use butcher block counters for our own kitchen, came from the image above. I am taken by the earthy yet modern look of it, it is also very durable and can be refinished at any time. Great when you have messy kids!

Adding open shelving is a great idea when you don’t have a lot of cabinets, they are very functional and easy to install. Find an open pantry shelve idea here.
